Join artist and facilitator Chris as she introduces you to Gouache in this 4 week art course titled ‘Monochrome’.  Learn new skills or refresh existing skills.  Explore painting techniques using monochrome light and dark effects and use a monochrome pallet to explore tone, texture, creative expression and painterly effects.  Gouache is water based and it is a versatile medium that allows you to learn quickly and get results.

Bio on Chris MaroneyChris is tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Education (Studio Practice in Art and Crafts) including a major in painting.  Chris has exhibited in group shows, completed commissions and sold a number of paintings over the years. Chris has taught art at St Michael’s Grammar School, Williamstown-Newport Neighbourhood House and recently at Haileybury College.

What you get

This course is suitable for all participants who are interested in learning more about painting techniques and continuing their development. Participants will learn painting techniques including control of darks and lights to depict 3-dimensions, tone, texture and creative expression.  The painting method explored during the 4 weeks includes monochrome, a limited pallet of 1 colour plus white. All materials are provided but bring a smock/old shirt.
